# 3. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

- The Fake Player Plugin software;
- Official FPP websites and documentation;
- Official update-checking services;
- Official community infrastructure operated by the Developer.

This Privacy Policy does NOT apply to:

- Third-party Minecraft servers using FPP;
- Third-party plugins or extensions;
- Unofficial forks or redistributions;
- Mojang, Microsoft, or Minecraft platform services.

Server operators remain independently responsible for compliance with applicable privacy laws relating to their own players and infrastructure.

---

# 4. Information We Collect

## 4.1 Plugin Data Stored Locally

FPP primarily stores data locally on infrastructure controlled by the server operator.

Examples may include:

| Data Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Bot names and UUIDs | Bot persistence |
| Bot locations | Respawn and restoration |
| Permission groups | Integration support |
| Display names | Tab list rendering |
| Session timestamps | Runtime/session tracking |
| Player UUIDs | Ownership tracking and cooldowns |

FPP does NOT intentionally collect or process:

- Player chat messages;
- Player IP addresses;
- Email addresses;
- Payment information;
- Real-world identity information;
- Advertising identifiers.

---

## 4.2 Optional Anonymous Metrics

If optional metrics are enabled, anonymous technical statistics may be sent to analytics providers such as bStats.

Examples may include:

- Plugin version;
- Minecraft server version;
- Java runtime version;
- Enabled feature flags;
- Approximate bot counts.

No personally identifying information is intentionally transmitted through metrics collection.

Metrics can be disabled at any time through Plugin configuration.

---

## 4.3 Update Checking

If enabled, FPP may send a request to check for newer Plugin versions.

Update checks may include:

- Current Plugin version;
- Server platform type;
- Basic request metadata normally associated with HTTP traffic.

No player data is intentionally transmitted during update checks.

---

## 4.4 Website Access Logs

Official FPP websites may temporarily log:

- IP addresses;
- Browser User-Agent strings;
- Request timestamps;
- Requested pages;
- HTTP status codes.

Logs are used exclusively for:

- Security;
- Abuse prevention;
- Availability monitoring;
- Basic operational diagnostics.

Logs are not used for advertising profiling or behavioural tracking.

---

# 5. How Information Is Used

Information may be used for:

| Purpose | Example |
|---|---|
| Core Plugin functionality | Bot persistence and restoration |
| Compatibility support | API and version handling |
| Security and abuse prevention | Website monitoring |
| Optional analytics | Anonymous usage statistics |
| Update notifications | Version checking |

We do NOT sell personal information or use personal data for advertising purposes.

---

# 6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland:

| Activity | Legal Basis |
|---|---|
| Core Plugin functionality | Legitimate interests |
| Website security logging | Legitimate interests |
| Optional metrics | Consent |
| Update checking | Legitimate interests |

Where consent is required, it may be withdrawn at any time by disabling the relevant feature.

---

# 7. Data Storage & Security

## 7.1 Local Storage

Plugin data is generally stored locally on the server operator's infrastructure.

Examples include:

```text
plugins/FakePlayerPlugin/
```

Storage may use:

- YAML configuration files;
- SQLite databases;
- MySQL databases configured by the server operator.

The Developer does not have direct access to server operator databases or local Plugin files.

---

## 7.2 Security Recommendations

Server operators are responsible for securing their infrastructure.

Recommended practices include:

- Restricting file permissions;
- Using secure database credentials;
- Maintaining regular backups;
- Keeping software updated;
- Using TLS/SSL where applicable.

---

# 8. Data Retention

Retention periods depend on server operator configuration.

Examples:

| Data | Typical Retention |
|---|---|
| Bot persistence data | Until manually deleted |
| Temporary cooldowns | Memory-only / restart-cleared |
| Website access logs | Limited retention period |
| Anonymous metrics | Aggregated only |

Server operators control retention of locally stored Plugin data.

---

# 9. Third-Party Services

FPP may interact with third-party services including:

| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Modrinth | Plugin distribution and update checks |
| Mojang / Microsoft APIs | Skin and profile lookup |
| bStats | Optional anonymous metrics |
| Database providers | Server operator-managed storage |

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policies and terms.

---

# 10. Cookies & Tracking

## Plugin

The Plugin itself does not use browser cookies, advertising trackers, or behavioural profiling systems.

## Website

Official websites may use minimal browser storage for functionality such as:

- Theme preferences;
- Session state;
- Security protections.

No advertising or cross-site tracking technologies are intentionally used.

---

# 11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

- Access to personal data;
- Correction of inaccurate data;
- Deletion requests;
- Restriction of processing;
- Data portability;
- Objection to processing;
- Withdrawal of consent.

Because most Plugin data is controlled locally by server operators, many requests should be directed to the relevant server operator.

---

# 12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may have additional rights under applicable law.

FPP does not knowingly:

- Sell personal information;
- Share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Most Plugin-related data remains under the direct control of server operators.

---

# 13. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

FPP is intended for server operators and administrators, not children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Server operators remain responsible for their own legal compliance relating to player communities.

---

# 14. International Data Transfers

Plugin data generally remains on infrastructure controlled by server operators.

Some third-party services used by FPP may process requests internationally depending on their own infrastructure and policies.

---

# 15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

Material changes may be announced through:

- GitHub;
- Discord;
- Official documentation pages.

The updated revision date will appear at the top of this document.

Continued use of FPP after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
